Roof batten replacement in Haarlem
During tiled roof renovation we assess the timber beneath the tiles as well. The condition of battens, counter-battens, membrane and roof decking determines which parts need replacement.
Costs and guarantee
Batten replacement is included in the quotation for the agreed roof build-up. Tiled roof renovation starts at €245 excluding VAT (€296.45 including VAT) per m². Check the quotation for the layers and work included.
Up to 12 years of guarantee, subject to the quotation. The term and conditions depend on the agreed work.
The initial inspection and quotation are free. Any exceptions are discussed beforehand.
How we approach the work
Assess the roof build-up
We discuss the existing tiles, access to the underlying roof and the intended renovation.
Inspect exposed timber
Once the tiles are removed we check the decking and battens. Unexpected repairs are discussed before proceeding.
Renew the agreed roof layers
We install the agreed battens and complete the roof with the selected tiles and connections.
Frequently asked questions
Can all the timber be checked without opening the roof?
Some parts cannot be seen from outside. Johnny explains the inspection needed. Opening the roof may reveal additional defects; extra repairs are discussed first.
Are new battens always included in a renovation?
The quotation specifies the roof build-up and the parts to be renewed. Compare the scope of work as well as the square-metre price.
Is there a project showing renewed battens?
Yes. At the corner house on Binnenweg in Heemstede we installed new counter-battens and tile battens. The original project report and photographs are available in Dutch.
